Hi there, I’m Alice! I’m an Aussie living in London (yes, another one!). I’ve been here
two and a half three years now, enjoying the quirkiness of the British and trying to stay warm and dry (normally I can manage one of the two!).
I absolutely love travelling; I live and breathe it. I currently work for an adventure travel company, so I get to talk about it all day and dream about it at night and that suits me just fine. I caught the travel bug early in life growing up as an army brat. We moved every two or three years, mostly around Australia, but there was a 2-year stint in America (which I can’t remember) and a 3-year stint in Italy, so it was pretty much inevitable that I would be hooked. Since becoming an ‘adult’ I’ve been lucky enough to do a semester abroad in Canada for uni, and now I’m in the UK, traipsing off to various countries on the continent every other weekend (I wish!).
I started this blog as a way to improve both my cooking and my photography. I’ve always been fascinated by photography, cooking not so much. But I decided it was time to be a grown up and expand my cooking and baking repertoire. And do you know what? I have come to love cooking and baking more than I ever thought possible.
I use a Sony Nex-5 ‘interchangeable lens’ camera with an 18-55mm lens for all my photos. It’s great because I don’t feel like I know enough for a big person’s camera yet, but this lets me have a bit more control over my photos.
My likes include (but are not limited to): chocolate (who doesn’t?), berries, passionfruit yoghurt, Candy Crush Saga (minor addiction, I’m not ashamed), reading, pizza, Gilmore Girls, bolognese sauce, strawberry and lime cider, English Breakfast tea (black, one sugar).
Dislikes: peanuts (sorry to the peanut lovers out there, there will never be a recipe on this blog that contains any form of peanuts), coriander/cilantro, coffee, hazelnuts, salads, rain, hangovers, getting out of bed in the morning (especially when it’s cold…or Monday).
Feel free to keep in touch, send me ideas and comment on my posts.
If you’d like to use one of my recipes on your blog or website, go ahead, but please credit me, rewrite the recipe in your own words and link back to my original post. If you’d like to use a photo for a round-up style post, that’s no problem as well. Again, please credit me and link back to my original post.
